SHELTON, CONN — It was a milestone night for Luke Kondub and the Masuk High team. Kondub reached the 200 career point mark in Masuk’s 5-2 win over New Milford at the Sports Center of Connecticut on Saturday night.
Kondub is the second player in school history to reach 200 and is chasing Ryan Simpson (218 points) for the all-time program lead, Coach Terry Stroz said.
Against New Milford, Kondub had two goals and an assist, tying the score in the first period just 1:11 after New Milford struck in the opening few minutes and change, setting up Graham Cybart for a 2-1 lead late in the opening stanza and tallying his second of the night for a 3-1 advantage only 34 seconds into the middle period.

New Milford pulled to within 3-2 late in the second, but the Panthers put the game away with a pair of goals by Chase DeSanto in the third. Nolan Cavaliere had assists on both of DeSanto’s goals and Teddy Walsh had an assist on one of DeSanto’s lamp-lighters.
Parker Driscoll and Nate Lisanti had assists on Masuk’s first and third goals, respectively. Goaltender Maddex LaFountain was strong in net for Masuk.
The Panthers improved to 5-0 heading into Monday’s home matchup with Trumbull at 2 p.m. Masuk has won consecutive games by 5-2 decisions and has netted five goals in three straight matchups.
