Monroe cancellations announced as heavy snow continues to fall

MONROE, Conn. — Snow is falling at a rate of one-to-three inches per hour from now until 9 p.m. with most of the accumulation expected by midnight, according to the latest Sunday weather forecast and town closings for Monday have already been announced.

Thundersnow, a phenomenon where thunder and lightning occur during a snowstorm, is also possible.

Monroe’s public schools will be closed, as well as Town Hall offices. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday.
