MONROE, Conn. — “Extreme sun glare” led to a four-vehicle-crash in the 70-block of Main Street (Route 25) early Monday morning, which sent one driver to Bridgeport Hospital with injuries.
At approximately 7:47 a.m., police said a 60-year-old Easton man was heading south in his 2004 Ford F350 when the sun glare made him stop suddenly to turn right to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him.
a 46-year-old Danbury resident driving behind him in a 2022 Honda Civic managed to stop in time, but a 22-year-old Bridgeport woman rear-ended the Honda with her 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage, pushing it into the back of a 2008 Subaru Outback driven by a Danbury man, 55, according to police.
Then a-65-year-old Botsford woman crashed into the back of the Mitsubishi Mirage.
The Bridgeport woman told officers she was injured, so she was taken to Bridgeport Hospital. She was issued a verbal warning for traveling too fast for conditions and her damaged Mitsubishi Mirage was towed due to disabling damage.
The Botsford woman was also issued a verbal warning for driving too fast for conditions.
Police said all of the drivers interviewed agreed there was extreme sun glare.
