Jockey Hollow students learn about military service on Veterans Day

Army Col. Tim Van Deventer educated students about life in Afghanistan during Desert Storm.

MONROE, Conn. — Jockey Hollow Middle School welcomed veterans from the families of students and staff Tuesday to attend educational presentations in the school auditorium on Veterans Day Tuesday.

“We are so grateful for the opportunity for our students to learn firsthand about military service and family life supporting those who serve,” said Jockey Hollow Principal Julia Strong. “Both are essential roles to defend and advance our great country.”
