To the Editor:
On Nov. 4, the voters of Monroe will have the opportunity to choose their next first selectman. Having raised my family and run a successful business here for over two decades, I want to share why I’m running. Monroe deserves a real choice as we face future challenges.
I’m not a talker, I’m a doer. In my business, I don’t tell people what they want to hear. I don’t sugarcoat it. I listen, identify the problem and get to work. That’s the proactive mindset I will bring to Town Hall.
Our community is facing long-standing issues, including budget pressures, overcrowded schools, and land use challenges that will shape Monroe’s future for years to come. With my extensive experience as a small business owner and as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, I am committed to applying a pragmatic and effective approach to these challenges, ensuring that residents have the leadership they deserve.
I believe that by working together in a bipartisan, cooperative spirit, we can move Monroe forward. I emphasize “we” because meaningful change comes not from promises of quick fixes, but from dedicated effort and clear, honest leadership.
If you want to see real results and a new direction for Monroe, I urge you to make your voice heard. Come out and vote for change on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Together, we can make a difference.
Leon Ambrosey
Candidate for First Selectman of Monroe
