MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s girls cross country team has had a nice start to the season. The Panthers have had two away meets and will have their lone home meet at Great Hollow Lake on Monday, Sept. 22.
Fastest times are coming from sophomore Abigail Cappola and senior Emma Shephard, who have been finishing within seconds of each other. Shephard is a newcomer who has made a positive impact.
Junior Kathryn Majersky has been a solid No. 3 and junior Nikol Kupieieva a strong No. 4. Both have shown improved times since last year, Coach Jennifer Nyquist said.
Seniors Emily Barnhart (captain) and Allie Benedetto (joining the team this year) have scored for the team as well.
