Masuk indoor track athletes excel in Southwestern Conference Developmental Meet

BETHEL, Conn. — Masuk High’s indoor track athletes enjoyed a day of personal bests while competing in the Southwestern Conference Developmental Meet at the Bethel High School Training Center on Jan. 24.

“We are so very proud of every student on our team,” said Masuk Head Coach Donald Casey Jr. “They support each other and work hard during practice. Several students achieved a personal record in their specific event. Throughout the course of the season, many students have achieved standards and qualified to compete in the Southwestern Conference and Class L Championship Meets in February.”

Here are the Developmental Meet No. 3 results:

Boys 55 meter: Connor Fulchino (5th, 6.97), Brayden Callahan (7th, 7.07) and Denson Sidne (9th 7.12). Qaayyim Shelby-Coote (23th, 7.30), Cristian Cardona (31th, 7.38) and Kaiden Santarsiero (40th, 7.48).

Girls 55 meter: Ella McGee (2nd, 7.62), Clara Fulchino (4th, personal best of 7.99), Semia Zylick (9th, 8.13), Priscilla Bruno (16th, personal best of 8.38), Natalia Fabryk (19th, 8.41), Kaia Linderbeck (30th, 8.62), Ella Palmieri (32th, 8.64), Christy Labastille (40th, personal best of 8.73) and Marylynn Thattil (44th, 8.83).

Boys 300 meter: Ryan Panella (3rd, personal best of 38.76), Brayden Herschberger (7th, personal record of 39.73), Jackson Thom (22nd, personal record of 42.22), Qaayyim Shelby-Coote (26th, personal record of 42.75), Filip Wadolkowski (28th, personal record of 43.03), Sanjit Selvaraju (34th, personal record of 44.04), Justin Goncalves (38th, personal best of 44.70), Jacob Lewis (41st, personal best of 45.24), and Dhani Marinez (50th, 46.43).

Girls 300 meter: Ella McGee (2nd, 44.41), Semia Zylick (6th, personal record of 47.07), Clare Fulchino (9th, personal best of 47.33), Gianna Moretti (10th, personal best of 47.58), Natalia Fabryk (15th, personal best of 48.73), Kaia Linderbeck (18th, personal record of 49.88), Marylynn Thattil, (31th, 52.48), Nikol Kupieieva (33rd, 52.71), Isabel Kyrytschenko (37th, personal record of 53.06), Christy Labastille (42nd, personal record of 53.74), Julia Golec (46th, personal best of 54.67), and Kamillah Arguello (50th, personal record of 55.69).

Boys 600 meter: Ryan Panella (1st, personal best of 1:29.98), Brayden Herschberger, (2nd, personal record of 1:30.11), Filip Wadolkowski, (6th, personal best of 1:40.71), Justin Goncalves (13th, personal best of 1:48.47) and Donovan McGarry (22nd, personal b best of 1:57.86). 

Girls 600 meter: Abigail Cappola (3rd, personal best of 1:52.65) and Nikol Kupieieva (9th, 2:10.98).
Boys 1000 meter: Jahdami Reid (13th, personal record of 3:11.33) and Brody Philbin, (15th, personal best of 3:31.58).
 
Girls 1000 meter: Emma Sheppard (4th, 3:51.34).

Boys 1600 meter: Sebastian Riera (4th, 5:22.12).

Girls 1600 meter: Bella Bost (1st, personal record of 5:57.34).

Girls 55 meter hurdles: Ella Palmieri (10th, personal best of 11.80), Maya Dodge (13th, 12.10) and Tatum Eastwood (15th, 14.74). 

Girls 4 x 200 meter relay: Masuk First Place Ella McGee, Semia Zylick, Clara Fulchino and Natalia Fabryk with a personal best of 1:53.56.

Girls 4 x 800 meter relay: Masuk First Place Abigail Cappola, Emma Sheppard, Nikol Kupieieva, Bella Bost with a personal record of 11:22.34.

Boys shot put: Jack Walser (3rd, personal best of 40-09.50), Liam Whalen (8th, personal best of 34-10.25), Ian Marroquin (9th, personal best of 34-04.25), Alexander Tiago, (20th, personal best of 29-02.25) and Donovan McGarry (33rd, personal best of 18-08.50).

Girls shot put: Aiden Michelon (6th, personal best of 21-00.50), Emma Bortzfield (14th, 17-00.50) and Katelyn Bender (17th, 14-11.50).

Boys high jump: Brayden Callahan (3rd, personal record of 5-04.00) and Jace McGee (tied for 4th, personal record of 5.04.00).

Girls high jump: Alexis Tsichlas (tied for 1st, 4-06.00).

Boys long jump: Brayden Callahan (1st, personal record of 19.08.00), Connor Fulchino (2nd, personal best of 19-00.00) and Kaidan Santarsiero (13th, 16-01.00).

Girls long jump: Priscilla Bruno (12th, 13-02.00) and Katelyn Bender (24th, personal record of 8-02.00).
