Meals4Monroe collects over 600 pounds of food, hygiene products for Monroe families

MONROE, Conn. — Meals4Monroe, a club organized by Masuk High School juniors Sanjana Pamulapati and Semia Zylick, collected over 600 pounds of nonperishable foods and personal hygiene products for a holiday donation to the Monroe Food Pantry.

“Because of their mission, families in Monroe have food on their tables and hope in their life,” said Eddie Lui, coordinator of the Monroe Food Pantry. “Sanjana and Semia are warm and engaging individual’s who teach and lead by example. I am confident that Meals4Monroe will be an asset to our town with their unique style and skills.”

Over last summer, Pamulapati and Zylick collected donations at Wolfe Park from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. under blistering heat, according to Lui, before organizing another collection drive for the holidays.
