MONROE, CT — The Monroe Chamber of Commerce elected its board, presented two scholarships to deserving Masuk High School graduates and beautification awards to local businesses at its annual dinner at Jennie’s Pizzeria.
Emma Smeraglino and Antonio Campos were awarded scholarships. Smeraglino will attend the College of Charleston while pursuing a career as a physical therapist and Campos will study to be a veterinarian at a school in Michigan.

Beautification awards were granted to 10 businesses:
- FurEver Zen dog grooming and spa, 650 Main St.
- 838 Strength and Fitness, 838 Main St.
- Cruvinel Brothers Training Center, a martial arts school at 75 Main St.
- Aldi, 201 Monroe Turnpike
- One More Rep, intense fitness training, 435 Main St.
- Capital Spirits, 574 Monroe Turnpike
- Takumi Ramen, 435 Main St.
- Shak’s Boxing and Fitness, 600 Main St.
- Testo‘s Restaurant, 505 Main St.
- Posh Tea Room, 755 Main St.
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce elected its board of directors, which includes Ray Giovanni as president, Jan Snyder as vice president, Lee Hossler as ambassador, Treasurer Janice M. Butler, CPA, and Secretary Joanne Almonte.
Other members include Ron Bellenot, Esq., Audra Santos, Gaetano Marra, David Fraga, Bruce Minoff, Wendy Grasso, Jim Weinberg, Previn Patel and Danielle Rownin.
