Monroe educators grapple with student enrollment in 2025, while students excel

MONROE, Conn. — Board of Education members and administrators researched options to upgrade school facilities and accommodate growing student enrollment in 2025, as Monroe’s students continued to excel in their studies, music and robotics.

Masuk Band Director Michael Ances was honored as the district’s Teacher of the Year and Monroe Elementary School celebrated its 90th anniversary.

The year ended with Dennis Condon being chosen as chairman of the newly elected school board, while longtime chairman David Ferris resigned after a 10-year-run on the board.
