Monroe First Selectman Terry Rooney will ‘keep us in the right direction’

To the Editor:

To my fellow citizens of my beloved town, Monroe, Conn., just recently I hit the age of 24-years-old, which is a very special feeling for me because for 20 years, I have had the honor to grow up in the town of Monroe. Over the years, I have become known for my work in the entertainment business and it led me to bring some of that to my hometown, which made me realize how meaningful one place can be to somebody.

I would like to begin my statement by pointing out that the first thing I am rooting for in this election is a peaceful debate between two gentlemen. But getting to the point, I really don’t know much about Mr. Ambrosey, but I can tell you that First Selectman Terry Rooney and myself first met was when he first ran for the position and seeing how he stood with pride, dignity, and what we found out to be integrity to this town, I knew he was the one to carry on the fight to keep our community in the correct place.

Ever since our first discussion, prior to his win, we became very close friends and to this day, every interaction I have with First Selectman Rooney, whether it was us bumping into each other at a restaurant, meeting face to face, or discussions on the phone, he always starts off with how much more he has in store for us to keep us in the right direction.

I know we are in a difficult time with our state putting so much pressure on the smaller towns. That is why First Selectman Rooney refuses to give up and I’m honored as a native who loves this town to endorse this campaign — and we are going to win!
