MONROE, Conn. — A 49-year-old Monroe woman was charged with DUI after police officers found her in her black Ford Explorer, stopped partially in the east travel lane of Purdy Hill Road with the engine running, Sunday night.
At approximately 8:48 p.m., the officers responded to a call about a Ford Explorer being driven without its lights on in the area of Purdy Hill and Cutlers Farm roads.
Officers who spoke to the driver noticed her eyes were bloodshot and glossy, police said, adding when they asked her if she had been drinking, she admitted to having a little.
Field sobriety tests were not performed to standard, leading to her arrest and police said a breath test at headquarters showed her blood alcohol level was about four times the legal limit.
She was released after posting seven percent of her bond for a court date in January.
