MONROE, CT — One of the most notable news stories of 2025 was comedian Matt Rife and YouTuber Elton Castee’s purchase of the home of late paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren to open an airBnB. The duo also plans to open an occult museum on Main Street.
A zoning battle was waged by Stevenson residents rallying against a cluster housing proposal, mainly out of concern over their wells, but Sun Valley Glen was ultimately approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Some other news stories included Monroe’s celebration of a new Peace Pole at Wolfe Park, voters passing a new town budget, and town officials expanding tax relief for seniors and unveiling an updated animal control facility.
