Two Monroe massage parlors hit with stop work orders for alleged payroll violations

Spring Spa, 500 Monroe Turnpike, and Luna Spa, 483 Monroe Turnpike, must come into compliance with the Connecticut Department of Labor to reopen.

MONROE, CT — Two massage parlors on Monroe Turnpike were issued stop work orders after allegedly misrepresenting their employees by making cash payments and understating or concealing payroll by not reporting their employees’ wages.

On Monday the Monroe Police Department assisted members of the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Wage and Workplace Standards Unit with inspections leading to the orders against Luna Spa 8 LLC, 483 Monroe Turnpike, and Spring Spa LLC, 500 Monroe Turnpike.

The businesses will be permitted to reopen once they become compliant with the Department of Labor, according to police.
